Feather fans can be flirty, sassy, sexy or raucous! Join Eva D'Luscious for 1 or both classes introducing fan dancing for Burlesque & Cabaret.
Class 1, Sunday, April 12 -- Includes basic standing poses and movement, how to hold fans, concealing and revealing, ideas for fan construction (feather and not!), and exercises for strengthening and stretching "fan" muscles.
Class 2, Sunday, April 19 -- Seated poses and movement, transitions between standing and floor, strip tease techniques, and exercises for strengthening and stretching "fan" muscles.
Fans are required for class; small marabou fans are fine. If you wish to invest in fans, Eva recommends http://fancyfeather.com/feather-fans/. Double (or more) layer or wing feathers provide the most coverage. Sally Rand-style fans such as these can be propped open onstage for floor work. Bamboo stave fans do not allow for this and staves are more difficult to replace when broken. The price you pay will make a difference in quality of the fan; feathers can be added later if economy is needed now, but starting with a strong base such as these is important.
