Christa Lowe, a rockin' bass singer in greenTONE a cappella of Madison, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma last fall and has been fighting the good fight to beat this cancerous beast! I don't think anyone is quite possibly as thrilled as Christa herself to celebrate the end of her chemotherapy treatment! While eliminating the cancer is a huge part of this journey for her, the healing process has only just begun and the rest of us gT gals are backing her up to help her move forward in the best way possible. Hence, we are doing what we do best - SINGING, duh - to raise funds that will help support Christa in paying her medical expenses and help her to move forward from a pretty dark spot in her life.
Joining us as opening acts are Midnight Voices of Madison WI, an all female high school group, and The Obertones of Oberlin College, an all male collegiate group. We are fortunate to have their support in making this an aca-concert for the history books!
There will be two shows - you can choose to attend one or both shows! In between the two shows, we are hosting a silent auction raffle with some really GREAT prizes. Among the prizes we've collected so far, you'll have the chance to win an overnight stay WITH dinner for two at HotelRED in downtown Madison. Other prizes include handmade items from some very accomplished local artists and a salon package giveaway! Feel free to stay after the first show for a little bit or come early for the second show in order to join in the fun of winning some amazing prizes, enjoy a tasty beverage or two and help us support one amazing human being!
This amazing event will take place at the historic Cave of the Mounds National Natural Landmark. Why, you ask? Because we get to sing in a cave, and singing in this cave has been a pretty rad experience for us during the holiday season of the past 5 holiday seasons. We are so excited to partner with the Cave staff for this event - we love them as much as they've loved having us be part of their events over the years! Cave of the Mounds is an easy-peasy 20ish minute drive south of Madison just off Highway 151, so don't get too stressed about this being super far away...because it really isn't!
