Class Descriptions

Slapstick 101 with Kolleen Kintz
Slips, trips, falls. Slaps, knaps, and claps. Learn the fundamentals of slapstick comedy! By working both independently and in groups of two and three, students will learn the basic skills that allow performers to execute slapstick comedy safely and effectively. No bruises necessary. Get ready to laugh!

Quick start Silks poses for beginners and aerial newbies with Sath Ramesh
This class is for any one who has never got on a silk or is a beginner with very limited experience on silks. Class will quickly take you through different poses that any physically active person can do. Most of the positions will be based on single foot lock and slip know. If time permits we can explore double foot lock. After the class you should be able to incorporate silks as a short side act in your main pole/lyra/gymnastic performance. The class will not be teaching any climbing or advanced moves. If you can come early and warm up, before class, we can spend more time learning the poses and some simple moves.

Double Stuff, counterbalance and tumbling with Rough n Tumblers
Working safely with spotters we will share some showy partner moves for fun on and off the stage.  Partner tumbling, counter balances, and assisted flips and falls to get you ready for the stage or a rowdy night out.

Pyramids with Lin Junming
Stacking people on people to make impressive shapes

Clowning with Elena Day
Do you want to be more connected to your audience, your partner and your instincts? Do you want to improve your stage presence? Do you want to HAVE FUN? Theatrical clowning ain't just about pies in the face! It's great for sensitizing the performer to their audience, their partners and their own instincts, while helping them become a force of nature onstage. Class includes exercises, games and discussion. Come! Play!

Hooping Geometry with Erin Jeannier
We'll focus on object manipulation that's helpful for all levels of hoopers, learning isolations that will allow the hoop to float into different planes and transition into exploring folding and sustained spinning.
