LOGCAP - Logistics Civil Augmentation Program is an Army initiative to outsource traditional support tasks to civilian contractors. Under this program, civilians perform services supporting the US Military in war time and other contingency environments as needed. The outsourcing of certain tasks to civilian contractors has allowed the military to restructure support units to focus on combat operations. The need for LOGCAP contractors has increased dramatically as a result large scale global involvement in overseas conflicts and natural disasters.
Come join with us as we discuss the challenges of project management in the world's most hostile environments. Joel Steveson will be presenting this unique program as an experienced member of the LOGCAP IV management team. Joel has served two tours with the LOGCAP Program both in Iraq and most recently Afghanistan.
Mr. Steveson is a project controls manager with CH2M HILL's Consulting, Engineering, Procurement, Construction Business Group. He has 11 years of experience in construction, estimating, scheduling, and project management. Mr. Steveson is responsible for implementation of project planning, scheduling, resource loading, and cost management for large Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), environmental, transportation, government and infrastructure projects for CH2M HILL, including projects such as LOGCAP IV Afghanistan, Panama Canal Expansion Project, LOGCAP III Iraq, and Gulf War Remediation Project Saudi Arabia. Mr. Steveson brings depth of experience and methods to enable efficient expending of project resources (people, money, equipment, material, and time) over the life of the project.
Mr. Steveson is a graduate of the University of Washington, a member of AACE International, and a certified Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP).
Social Hour is 5:30-6:30pm
Dinner is 6:30-7:15pm
Presentation will be from 7:15-8:30pm
The member price for this event is $26 if you register by October 11th, $31 for last minute registration. Non members pay $36 (early) and $41 (after October 11th).
