ticktock is coming to Chicago, and they will rock you face off! Seriously.
What people are saying:
"a sharp, teasing character study...Beautiful in the plain light of day"
--Michael Upchurch, The Seattle Times
"somehow imbued... with a graceful sensuality that was both soothing and titillating."
--Warren Etheridge, The Warren Report
"...always thoughtful, always professional... The level of your craft is incredible ...ethereal beauty that is difficult to describe... Thank you." --Clayton Hibbert, Artistic Director, Seattle Erotic Art Festival
"The most creative aerial dance we've ever seen!" --Shayna Swanson, Aloft Aerial Dance
ticktock is the Pacific Northwest's only post-modern aerial circus and dance company, founded by collaborators Elizabeth Rose, Jill Schaffner, and Bridget Gunning. Formed solely to create performance that comes alive in the space between circus and modern dance, ticktock inspires audiences with undeniably real surreality and fantastically literal flights of fancy. ticktock's hybrid aerial/post modern dance style has drawn accolades from critics in their first year, being touted as "remarkably different" and "aerial works that transcend the usual collection of feats and tricks" (--Josh Windsor, seattledances.com). Since the company's inception in 2009, ticktock has shown work in Seattle at ACT Theatre, On the Boards, Velocity Dance Center, Canoe Social Club, Hale's Palladium, Grey Gallery, and the Emerald City Aerialdrome, where they have received an ongoing space grant to produce new work. They have received invitations to perform locally in the Moisture Festival, Artopia, the Seattle Erotic Art Festival and Circus of Dreams. They toured the Pacific Northwest with no.1, and performed in the Aerial Dance Festival in New York and in the Big Range Dance Festival in Austin, TX. Keep up with them at ticktockdance.com.
