Latin American Sounds / A BENEFIT ASIAN TOUR 2010
Cellist Ana Ruth Bermudez and pianist Antonio Fermin will offer a benefit program featuring compositions by 20th Century Latin American composers. Special guest soprano Eva de la O will perform Villalobos' Bachianas Brasileiras and Figueroa's Suite de Canciones.

ANA RUTH BERMUDEZ has appeared in concert at the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, at the Rachmaninoff and Tchaikowsky Halls in Moscow, at the Esteban Salas, Teatro Nacional and the Teatro Garcia Lorca in Cuba and the Teatro Teresa Carreno in Venezuela. A sought-after soloist, recitalist and pedagogue, Ana Ruth Bermúdez studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory of Music and the Instituto Superior de Arte in her native Habana. In the United States she presented concerts at the Americas Society, Weill Recital Hall, and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and Alverno College in Milwaukee.

ANTONIO FERMIN has performed extensively throughout Europe, Japan, Middle East and South America in both solo and concert. In the United States he has performed at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, The Aspen Music Festival, The Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood and for the American Composers' Orchestra 1994 Sonidos de las Americas concert at Carnegie Hall, among others. In 2003 he directed the Modesta Bor: Perspectives at Carnegie Hall, a two-day celebration of solo and chamber music honoring the 80th birthday of this composer.

EVA DE LA O is the Founder and Director of Musica de Camara. She made her operatic debut in Ghent, Belgium and was presented at the Santiago de Compostela Music Festival in Spain by the late Argentine Composer Alberto Ginastera. She has performed in opera and concerts in Europe, the United States and the Caribbean and has won high praise from music critics in New York and elsewhere as a magical singer with a beautiful timbre who sings with exquisite musicianship.
