The Breeze of Mevlevi
Monday, June 21, 2010, 7:30 - 9pm.  Following 10 days of retreat and preparation, the Mevlevi Order of America, directed by Postneshin Jelaleddin Loras, presents 'The Breeze of Mevlevi', a one-night concert of sacred music, poetry and dance of the Whirling Dervishes of Turkey.  Featuring Timucin Cevikoglu, direct from Turkey, the evening will be a rare opportunity to experience classical dervush music and inspirational dance in the tradition of the beloved mystic sufi poet Mevlana Jelaleddin Rumi.
Timucin Cevikoglu is a master of the ney (reed flute), kudum (Turkish kettle drums) and vocals, a Ph.D. of Musical Sciences, author, composer, multi-media recording artist, teacher and dervish.  Many of his accomplishments are listed on the MOA website: http://hayatidede.org/popups/cevikoglu.htm.  For information on the Mevlevi Order of America, visit www.hayatidede.org.
