Cheer on the winners from our monthly StorySlams when they compete to find out who's the best storyteller of them all!

The party kicks off outside the Painted Bride Art Center at 5pm with BBQ and drinks provided by Sweet Lucy's Smokehouse and Herr's Potato Chips. The menu features Sweet Lucy's popular pulled chicken and pulled pork with macaroni and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes and cucumber tomato salad on the side.

Dance to Peculiar Gentlemen's own particular brand of retro rock and contagious rhythms. They're coming down from Brooklyn with the "fresh sound and energy" that The Village Voice says has "breathed much needed life into New York's indie scene." http://www.myspace.com/peculiargentlemen

At 8pm the crowd moves inside of the Painted Bride Art Center for the Grand Slam. Winners of StorySlams from January through May go head to head for the title of "Best Storyteller in Philly." The theme of "Show and Tell" guides their stories.

Note: The Block Party will run from 5-7:30 Grand Slam will run from 8-10PM
