Ready to the stage solo or grow your performance skills? Join Eva D'Luscious and special guest teachers Jodi Waseca and Violet Streak for a series on developing a solo act for Burlesque or Cabaret performance, or drop in to the classes you need most!
Holding attention on a stage requires an act that draws in an audience, takes them on a journey and makes them scream for more. Eva D'Luscious is Creative Director of Cabaret de Caliente, the premier Burlesque show in the North Bay, an International Burlesque performer and experienced teacher with a passion for helping fellow performers shine their brightest.
Many act types are welcome, including Burlesque, Belly Dance, Cabaret Jazz, Pole Arts,Flow/Fire, etc. Over the course of the series you will learn how to construct a compelling and unique act for Burlesque and Cabaret shows, including Stage Presence, Persona & Character Development, Costuming and Make Up Tips, Breaking Down Music, and have an opportunity to workshop your act with the class.
SESSION 1 January 11 Burlesque Basics
Specific Burlesque Topics discussed include Classic Burlesque Dance Moves, Showgirl Posture & Arms, The 3Ps of Strip Tease, Demonstration of Peeling Techniques, Tips on selecting strip-able clothing, Tassel & Assel Training (yup, you can put them on your tush too!) and practice, practice, practice!
No nudity required, wear booty shorts or similar and a strapless bra that can stay on, tassels can be pinned to either of those if you prefer not to put them on your skin. Bring gloves, corset (zipper or front closure is best, side hook & eye closure least desirable), coat/robe with a tie sash, bra, skirt/dress, garter belt, stockings (not stay ups that have clear elastic on inside) and pasties with tassels if you want to learn those. Tassels can be secured with spirit gum, thin, double-sided carpet tape or silicon adhesive; Fashion Tape doesn't hold. Spice Sensuality Boutique offers a discount to all Eva D'Luscious students.
