The Song is Old/Exodus 1947
Westside JCC Los Angeles, CA
The Song is Old: When octogenarian Sam Pfeffer heard about the Bnei Menashe, a people who claim descent from a lost tribe of Israel and practice Judaism, he decided to obtain a Torah and deliver it to them in remote north-eastern India. So began a personal odyssey across half the planet and 3000 years of history. Exodus 1947: After World War II, a group of private American citizens banded together in a clandestine effort to transport Holocaust survivors to Palestine. On July 11, 1947, 4,500 Jewish refugees were crammed into a decrepit steamship, later named Exodus 1947.
