First Art History Fundraiser: Walter Horn and Hitler's Holy Relics
Wednesday, April 28, 5:30pm Morrison Reading Room Doe Library, ground floor U.C. Berkeley campus
Bestselling author SIDNEY KIRKPATRICK speaks on the life and Indiana Jones-worthy war-time exploits of Walter Horn, founder of the Berkeley Art History Department. The reading coincides with the forthcoming publication of his new novel: HITLER'S HOLY RELICS: A True Story of Nazi Plunder and the Race to Recover the Crown Jewels of the Holy Roman Empire.
Beate Fricke, professor of Medieval Art History, will introduce the evening with a presentation on Walter Horn as a medievalist and art historian.
Please join us after the event at a complimentary champagne reception to toast Sidney Kirkpatrick and our department's storied history.
This event is our first FUNDRAISER for the DEPARTMENT OF ART HISTORY, in response to recent budget cuts to the University of California, which gravely affected our department. All proceeds are to benefit the Walter Horn Fund for Graduate Studies in the History of Art. Please join us!
