Workshop with Melissa Orlov - The Couples Guide to Thriving with ADHD
Join us for an afternoon couples workshop with Melissa Orlov to learn how to thrive in an ADHD relationship. A rare opportunity to work with Melissa in person. Ample free parking at the Mountaineers Program Center on the Magnuson Park campus.
ADHD symptoms encourage specific patterns in relationships. For example, the chronically distracted ADHD partner is often viewed as consistently inconsistent in completing agreed-to tasks. The non-ADHD partner misinterprets their partner's symptom of distractibility and reports feeling unloved and lonely, noting that, "It's almost impossible to understand how an adult can promise to do something, then not do it, over and over again, never seeming to learn to do better.
The good news is that once a couple understand the patterns, the two have the power to dramatically improve their relationship. Melissa Orlov explores the affect ADHD has on relationships. Melissa's workshop will include information on the science of rebuilding trust; on ways to help ADHD partners attend well enough to express their love; how to overcome negative emotions that might be affecting intimacy; sex-starved marriages; sexual intimacy and more. Melissa will help you understand what's going on and provide information that you and your partner can use to start getting closer now and in the future.
