Solo Piano Concert featuring Lisa Downing, Joseph Akins & Lee Bartley
Lisa Downing has lived in the Denver, Colorado area all of her life and has been actively composing and performing solo piano in the Denver area since 1982.
Lisa has a passion for writing and performing original music for solo piano. Her premier album is entitled "Think On These Things," released in 1991. This collection of original solo piano compositions might be classified as "Neo Classical" or New Age. Melodic reflective and contemplative pieces will generate peaceful visualizations that are perfect for quieting your world and centering your soul.
Lisa's Holiday CD, "Christmas for Two," offers traditional holiday music with original solo piano arrangements. The melodies are all familiar and recognizable to her audience. Kathy Parsons of MainlyPiano.com says: "...it's excellent from the first note to the last..."
Lisa's most recent recording, "A Delicate Balance," is Lisa's newest collection of original solo piano compositions. An intimate expression of the personal moments in her life, this CD is an inspired collection of solo piano impressionism. Lisa is completely re-defining the genre in this technically impressive and soul-touching masterpiece.
Lisa's recordings are featured on the internet radio stations "Whisperings," "Sky.fm " solo piano radio," Pandora," "Calm Radio," "New Age Piano Radio," and broadcast radio worldwide.
Ms. Downing also owns Vision Quest Entertainment, originally her own record label and now also a talent agency in Colorado since 1982. Vision Quest represents over 1200 musicians and event services in the Denver/Boulder area.

Dr. Joseph Akins is a pianist, keyboardist, composer, producer and professor based near Nashville, Tennessee.
Joseph has studied with some of the worldÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢s greatest jazz educators and has performed with several notable county, rock and jazz groups.
During the 90ÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢s, he turned to composing and performing contemporary solo piano music after facing a live challenge that was threatening to his music career.
He released his debut piano CD "Keys to the Heart "in 1997 and a follow-up in 2007 titled "Masterpeace."
Joseph's most recent CD, "Spirit Touch," which peaked at #7 on the Top 100 Radio Airplay Chart for Zone Music Reporter. It has been selected for Kathy's Top 20 for 2009 and Kathy's Top 40 for the Decade. RJ Lannan of ZMR said "Spirit Touch is technically correct in every way with just the right amount of feeling. It has an appealing mix of solo and instrumental works that beckons to your heart with every listen."
Joseph's albums receive ongoing airplay and reviews worldwide and he continually travels the United States to perform the original music from these albums.
In addition, Joseph is an award-winning assistant professor at the Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University.

Lee Bartley is well known as the principal composer and keyboardist for the Denver-based and very popular classical jazz group, "Images."
With "Images," Lee recorded six national releases, among them CDs for both MCA Universal Masterseries and Capitol Records, charting as high as #8 and #9 in R&R Magazine for national radio air play. As the principal composer for "Images," and as a soloist, he has recorded over 40 original compositions.
Lee is a Colorado native, and has played piano all his life, with studies in both classical and jazz piano. Lee is a graduate of Denver University with a degree in music theory and composition.
In January of 2000 he released his first solo piano CD, "Adrift in Time" a collection of 15 uniquely beautiful and original compositions.
Lee has recently released his second solo piano CD, Lee's most recent solo piano release is entitled "A View From AboveÃÃ,Ã,Ã,¢. This solo CD is a diverse collection of songs, rich in harmony and technique, with a refreshing emphasis on melody.
