Seattle Jewish Chorale Season Finale Concert
Seattle Jewish Chorale, conducted by Interim Director Mary Pat Graham, presents music of joy and praise, love and longing in their second annual Season Finale Concert.  New on the Seattle music scene, SJC sings repertoire from a wide spectrum of Jewish experiences and choral traditions, using both sacred and secular texts.  The Season Finale will include music from the classical, jazz, folk, and pop genres, sung in Hebrew, English, Yiddish and Ladino; composers include Salamone Rossi, Paul Ben-Haim, and Debbie Friedman. As their contribution to the “Seattle Celebrates Bernstein” regional Arts Festival, SJC will perform two of Bernstein’s rarely heard Jewish pieces.  The Chorale is accompanied by pianist Barbara Pickett, from Central Washington State University, and will be joined guest soloist Cantor David Serkin-Poole of Temple B'nai Torah, and several surprise instrumentalists. Seattle radio personality Gigi Yellen will host and narrate the program.

Founded in the fall of 2008, Seattle Jewish Chorale is a volunteer, not-for-profit, multi-generational choir, whose members come from all over the Greater Seattle area, with diverse backgrounds and affiliations. In its first two seasons, SJC has performed at Bellevue Square, the Seattle Jewish Film Festival, University Village, Crossroads Bellevue, the NW Folklife Festival and Town Hall Seattle. SJC aims to entertain and educate audiences with the richness and diversity of Jewish song, and, in so doing, build bridges to understanding, tolerance and respect through the universal language of music.

Seattle Jewish Chorale is a Partner Artist project of Shunpike, a 501c3 non-profit art service organization, whose mission is to strengthen the Seattle arts community by partnering with small and mid-size arts groups to develop the business tools they need to succeed.
