Mama Bird Recording Co. presents: "A GRAND OLE HOOT""
Following a sold-out show at the Cambridge YMCA Theatre last September, Mama Bird Recording Co. returns to the stage on April 14 for a very unique "A Grand Ole Hoot."
Whereas September's "A Grand Ole Hoot" showcased up-and-coming local artists, April's show celebrates community folk traditions by providing a larger platform for those who have performed at Mama Bird's monthly hootenannies.
Vikesh Kapoor, Spitzer Space Telescope, Old Hannah and Barna Howard will share the stage with over 15 professional and amateur musicians for a night of sea chanteys and field hollers, drinking songs and spirituals, war ballads and murder ballads, and much more.
"We're making sure to keep the format fresh," Lonesome Vince, founder of Mama Bird Recording Co, said. "April's show will be a contemporary, theatrical celebration of a community built by the all-inclusive folk tradition."
About Mama Bird Recording Company: Mama Bird Recording Company is a Boston-based collective of singers and storytellers. Its founder, Lonesome Vince, is most interested in sharing and supporting vernacular music. Hosting monthly hootenannies, Mama Bird is proud to promote a refreshingly open community of folk enthusiasts.
