SUMMER DANCE CAROUSEL in the World Famous Russian Ballet Style
Hop aboard our Summer Dance Carousel and take your family on a ride to the enchanted world of fairy tales and magical folklore in the glorious Russian ballet tradition.
This bright and colorful ballet showcase in two parts features the talented young dancers of the Bayer Ballet Company, guest appearances by principal dancers of the San Jose Ballet as well as performances by students from the up-and-coming Bayer Ballet Academy. (You can say you saw them here first!).
The dances in Part I range from classical, character and folk through contemporary pieces -- all subtly contained in a lovely woodland theme. Enjoy the flowers and mushrooms of the forest, colorful polka and tarantella pieces, Russian folk dances as well as guest appearances from Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, the The Nutcracker and Coppelia.
Part II is an original story ballet that will burst into your hearts as the stage is transformed into a brilliantly beautiful Russian market. The remarkable dancers of The Bayer Ballet Company will steal your hearts with the expressive and precise movement that characterizes the Russian ballet style. Vivid characters, colorful costumes, and technical precision of movements set to a brilliant music of Igor Stravinsky will bring to life magical folklore, including Baba Yaga the witch and other unforgettable characters from the Russian tradition. Inna Bayer's choreography includes selections from Stravinsky's Petrouchka and Firebird.
The music, costumes and stunning dancing make Summer Dance Carousel a don't miss event for the whole family. Special $20 per seat price for groups of 10 or more.
