Zulal
On April 11, 2010 at 4pm in Bayside, NY the Zulal Armenian A Cappella Trio will be performing a full-length concert for the Armenian Relief Society's Mayr Chapter of NY. The ARS has been providing education and humanitarian assistance to Armenians since 1910.
Zulal arranges and performs traditional Armenian folk songs in intricate three-part harmonies that pay homage to Armenia's musical history while moving rural-based traditions into the contemporary realm with renewed lyricism and energy.
"An amazing accomplishment of brilliant music. Live performances are highly recommended, they are an experience," raves one audience member. Says Justin Davidson of New York Magazine, "Zulal, an a cappella trio of Armenian-American women who refract ancestral folk songs through the prism of the collegiate close-harmony group, do so to spectacular effect".
Zulal's special benefit performance in Bayside, NY on April 11th offers concert-goers the opportunity to be inspired by Armenia's traditional music while helping the ARS inspire Armenians throughout the world find sustainability and the tools to prosper.
