No...You Shut Up. Written and performed by Lauren Weedman.
In her unflinchingly funny theater works, Lauren Weedman's incisive observations and painfully dead-on characterizations are woven into laugh-out-loud stories that boomerang back to nail the teller of the tale. Her latest solo performance traces her attempts to exorcise a demon and try to "trust herself" even as she struggles with things beyond her control. As a aging outsider, Weedman seeks comfort in broken families; hanging out with a pair of harassed lesbian moms, widowers and foster parents.  Her inner voice may not be audible but her outer voice is certain to spill its guts.

Seattle Weekly 5/5/2010
"she's alone onstage for 80 minutes, but you'll struggle to believe it as she shape-shifts her body, changes vocal timbre, and deploys an encyclopedia of personality tics to create an array of convincing characters. Weedman's not a raconteur; she never talks to the audience. Instead, she plays vignettes, jumping from role to role at critical moments, sometimes only for a reaction shot. So nimble is she in her voice work and movement, you could watch her do the same show every night for a week and not stop laughing."

Boise Weekly called No..you shut up " gut-clutchingly frank, it provides the perfect showcase for the talents of this sometimes neurotic, sometimes vulnerable, always charming, one-woman phenom."

Los Angeles Weekly wrote of Lauren's theatre work  "when she's onstage I'd advise that you duck as painful truths go whizzing by like bullets, send-ups rain down like bombs, an uncensored id explodes like shrapnel out of some internal minefield. It kills me like art. Killer art. I'm not sure we've seen anyone like Lauren Weedman before."
