SCRAMBLED (Chicago Jewish Play Reading Festival 2015)
SCRAMBLED by Beth Kander February 8, 2015 7:00 p.m. Check in for Admission at 6:30 p.m.
Anshe Emet Synagogue 3751 N. Broadway St. Chicago, IL 60613
One of 8 plays to be featured as part of the Chicago Jewish Play Reading Festival.
Sara, an unemployed young Jewish woman, thinks an infertile Orthodox couple's ad offering $50,000 for a Jewish egg donor might solve her financial difficulties. But when she meets the deeply observant wife Neshama, Sara faces questions about her own Jewish authenticity. SCRAMBLED presents women from very different backgrounds whose encounter puts their own assumptions about Jewish identity to a surprising test.
