AF Sessions - June
AF Sessions is a cross between a live intimate in-studio concert and a demo recording session exclusive to the AF Sessions. AF Sessions is a curated concert series part of Artsy Fartsy Show.

The June 2012 AF Sessions Inductees:
Smokey Robotic
Smokey Robotic is a four-member independent artist collective backed by the multi-platinum producing duo of Illmind and Konrad OldMoney. The NYC and Vancouver, BC -based musicians are breaking new ground with a genre of music they call "Superfuture," which transcends reality with a style that incorporates, but is not limited to, a blend of hip-hop, soul, pop, and electronic.

Blue Meadow
Winner of the 2012 Artsy Fartsy Battle of the Bands, dubbed by comedian Harrison Greenbaum as The "black" Beatles, Blue Meadow is a soulful, rock group from the Bronx that literally took the audiences breath away.

Late Cambrians
Late Cambrian is an indie rock band out of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. John N Wlaysewski (Flying Machines, The Attorneys) convened with Colin Schiller (Drummer) in January of 2011 to record what would become their debut album, The Last Concert. John played guitar, bass and synthesizer on this debut with Colin lending his drumming and percussion duties. The first five songs on the CD were tracked January 8-10. The next four were tracked in February with O lending her high airy backing vocals to three of the final tunes. The band eventually added Nunzio Moudatsos (A Crimson Affair) as their bass player. The unit intact, Late Cambrian took their melodic indie pop/rock sound to the stage in late March of 2011.

Each month an musical artist or group is selected by AF Sessions curator, Jack Dourakos and the Executive Producer, Barika Taheer Edwards to perform and join the AF Session Alumni. A portion of the AF Sessions will be broadcasted for terrestrial and online listeners can be a part of the AF Sessions experience.
In addition to being a part of the live broadcast of the Artsy Fartsy Show, a portion of the AF Sessions is not broadcast but recorded with a live studio audience.

What makes the AF Sessions special is a physical audience sits in on the session and has an enhanced concert experience. The selected emerging musicians, whom we predict will breakout nationally, share their stories and the artistic process behind the songs they perform. Dourakos interviews the artists and audience members get to ask questions themselves. The AF Sessions artists come from an array of genres and styles; and foremost are diverse in originality, creativity and have a unique sound.
