MAYE CAVALLARO at SATURDAY SALON SERIES
A sultry contralto loaded with inflections reminiscent of Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Mahalia Jackson-yet very much her own. A consummate jazz vocalist with caressing style that takes you into the heart of the music. It's no wonder she is a sought after performer and teacher at the Jazzschool. Be prepared to be impressed!
Her band will be John R. Burr on piano, Jeff Neighbor on bass, and Jack Dorsey on drums. Expect some laughter, some tears all presented in a soulful, swinging package.
