In addition to countless newspapers, William Randolph Hearst turned out News of the Day, a series of newsreels keeping the public up to date on world affairs, for over 50 years! Come witness a selection of the newsreels that your grandparents might have watched, produced by the infamous creator of sensationalist yellow journalism. A few "Soundies," antediluvian music videos released in the same era as News of the Day, will follow - so if you're a sucker for pop music of the 1940s, be sure to mark this one on your calendar.
