The Cash Registers
Cash Register's mastermind John Bendik was already a veteran of the Pittsburgh hardcore scene at age 18. His bands Poisoning & Savage Amused had a brief existence, but left a lasting impression on the East Coast hardcore scene. Mind Cure Records recently released Savage Amused first album-length demo to great acclaim. After moving to New York City in the early 90's, John formed the Cash Registers. The band played a melodic-frenetic style of punk & garage rock. Cash Registers played 100's of shows in and around the East Coast, including a dozen or more at CBGB's. The band released 2 E.P's and a batch of compilation tracks for Flipside, Go-Kart & more before splitting around 2000. Now the band is back playing shows & writing and recording new songs. John is remastering dozens of Cash Registers unreleased tracks for immediate release.
