Restoring God's Peace with Justice Conference
Dr. Richard Mouw, President of Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA will be the Plenary Speaker at the Seattle Presbytery Peacemaking Conference, Saturday, October 4, 2008. The theme of the conference is Restoring Gods Peace with Justice. Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, 3605 84th Ave. SE, Mercer Island will host the conference from 8:15 AM until 4:00 PM. The conference is sponsored by the Social Justice and Peacemaking Committee and the Dick Lutz Peace Fellowship of Seattle Presbytery.
Richard J. Mouw has served as president of Fuller Theological Seminary since 1993, after having served the seminary for four years as provost and senior vice president. A philosopher, scholar, and author, Dr. Mouw joined the faculty of Fuller as professor of Christian philosophy and ethics in September 1985. He earned his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Chicago.
Dr. Mouw has a broad record of publication and he has served on many editorial boards, including currently Books and Culture. He is the author of 17 books, including "He Shines in All That's Fair: Culture and Common Grace", "Wonderful Words of Life", "Calvinism in the Las Vegas Airport", and most recently, "Praying at Burger King". Dr. Mouw is a regular columnist on the popular spirituality website beliefnet.com and he maintains a personal blog.
In addition to two addresses by Dr Mouw,12 workshops have been planned to energize and nurture attendees in a variety of Peacemaking related areas:
