David Sánchez is one of the most important saxophonists to come out ot Puerto Rico in the past twenty plus years. Chicago Tribune
The GRAMMY-winning saxophonist and member of the SFJAZZ Collective, will release his newest project "CARIB" in midsummer 2018. We are privileged to present a preview of his deeply personal journey using modern jazz to explore the kinship between the music in Haiti and his native Puerto Rico.
David Sánchez: Here I am chillin' and listening for the first time after mastering my upcoming cd CARIB. So far so good on my little speaker. It'll be the first time that I'll be releasing a recording on my own. No record company, no fundraiser campaigns, etc. ...Ready or not here I come!
The situation in Puerto Rico remains one of tragic need. Please dont forget them.
