Gina Haraszti is an acclaimed filmmaker and artist based in Montreal and we are delighted to be hosting her. Running Order: ORISON (2014) Black-and-white meditation on the tension between scientific knowledge and religious belief. A young scientist, man of reason, searches for his childhood feelings, his forgotten ability to believe, when his rabbi father passes away. Orison is delicate and melancholic piece about and all the hope which shapes a God and the beautiful imperfection of life and its heartbreaking ephemerality in the universe. WANING (2011) WANING investigates the questions of memory and death through the use of multiple layers of canted angles in one stationary shot. Layer upon layer builds up as Haraszti delivers the source, and the horror of the opening shot. Sneak peak of REI (2015) REI tells the story of a "hikikomori" an increasingly common phenomenon in Japan and South- Korea that refers to young shut-ins who gradually loses contact not just with the outside world, but with reality itself.
