DONNA STERNBERG & DANCERS in collaboration with Michael Masucci/EZTV present a dance/multimedia event on October 16 and 17. Exploring the concept of entanglement from both a scientific and human perspective, Quantum Entanglement mixes up the subatomic movement of particles with the emotional ramifications of being entwined with people and situations. The performance will be presented at Royal T, 8910 Washington Blvd. in Culver City on Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17 at 8:30 P.M. Tickets for the performance are $20 general admission, $15 for students, seniors and DRC members and are available at www.dsdancers.com or 310-260-1198.
Working within the architectural constructs of Royal T, a charming cafe/shop/art space, dance, video and science collide, ensnare and coalesce. Dancing in plexiglas cubes, narrow passageways and a small lounge, the performers including dancers, a musician and actor, interact with projections on two video screens.
The basis for this piece comes from the science of quantum physics, examining how two or more objects are linked together even though they may be spatially separated. Quantum Entanglement is a continuation of Donna Sternberg & Dancers science series, which seeks to build a bridge between dance and science through the artistic interpretation of scientific principles. Digital media artist Michael Masucci of EZTV, has been a frequent collaborator with the company, creating original, interactive and multimedia video and digital art components that expand and enhance the visual experience of the event.
