The Nickel Slots/The Sickstring Outlaws/The Graveyard Boots
With a new album and a new music video releasing this spring, The Nickel Slots are making the most of 2014. They began performing together in November 2008, and the following spring a song from their debut album spent a month in rotation on KWOD 106.5 FM's Sounds of Sacramento series. In 2010 and 2011 they won consecutive Sammie Awards for Outstanding Americana/Alt-Country, and their second album Five Miles Gone prompted SubMerge Magazine to say that it "will make a serious bid to be the soundtrack of your summer." The band headed for Europe in 2012, winning over audiences in venues both large and small, and in 2013 their debut music video for "The Devil's Chain Gang" was voted Best Overall Music Video by both the audience and the jury at the Sacramento Film and Music Festival.

The Sickstring Outlaws are an outlaw country/southern rock band whose main goal is to show people a good time. The San Diego based band have had the good fortune through hard work to open for the likes of David Allan Coe, The Marshall Tucker Band and Merle Jagger as well as many local acts such as the popular tribute band Cash'd Out, Married by Elvis, Three Bad Jacks and many more. They have performed at many venues such as Brick by Brick, Adams Street Fair, Del Mar Fair, The knitting Factory in Hollywood, The Ramona Mainstage (sold out show w/ David Allan Coe), Winstons, Dream Street Live and Gallaghers to name just a few. The Sickstring Outlaws have taken the hard road by playing original songs, staying true to what they believe in and working hard to keep outlaw country music alive. By sheer determination, they are starting to gain a large and strong fan base everywhere they play. If you happen to catch their live show...you will not be disappointed. Nina Garin, writer for the San Diego Union Tribune, quoted in her column..."This band is clearly influenced by Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard and other Classic country stars, but the music is still super-fun and has a tough sound all its own." - Nina Garin

Graveyard Boots are the boots you wear when you want to pay your respects to those that came before you in the most honorable way. We are wine country musicians who have played a lot of different styles of music over the years and have come home, now playing original roots music that pays tribute to the blues, folk, Americana, and rock musicians who have inspired us in our quest for tonal bliss. Like an old jacket found again, worn over your favorite pair of jeans, our sound is fresh yet comfortable. And while warmly familiar, it is also brash and new, telling stories never before heard. After all, music is that secret language which fuses our memories with the present, giving us a new lens with which to see the world. In the end, we are an honest, seasoned band with an updated sound, ear-bending hooks, and big riffs.
