Classic folk rocker Jon Pousette-Dart has built his four decade career with "a gilded tenor and a smooth hand on the guitar." (Gary Eskow) His Pousette-Dart Band was a 1970s radio mainstay, a favorite on the college circuit, and became one of the busiest touring groups in the US, playing arenas from coast to coast. While the original group broke up in the early 80's, Jon continued on his own releasing five solo albums to critical acclaim, with a new album due out this year. His engaging melodies, catchy hooks and heartfelt ballads are optimistic and accessible. He's a confident and gracious performer with well-earned diehard following, and new fans with each passing year.
Opening set: "With a painter's eye for detail, and music firmly rooted in the great American sound, Berardo sings about circus retirees, expatriates in Florida rum bars, union iron workers, old poets, aimless New York City debutantes, near death car crashes, hard nosed fishermen and of course, the changes that experience brings to everyone."
