The Performers
Formed at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2007, The Tzigane Trios mission is to produce thoughtful and exciting interpretations of major trio literature. The Tzigane Trio has worked closely with fortepiano pedagogue David Breitman, theorist Brian Alegant, and cellist Darrett Adkins as their mentors. During the summer of 2008, the Tzigane Trio was a fellowship ensemble at the Hampden-Sydney Music Festival, where they worked with acclaimed artists including cellist Mark Johnson and pianists William Wolfram and James Tocco. With an unmistakable enthusiasm for chamber music, the Tzigane Trio brings together intellect and passion to create truly exciting performances.
Clarinetist Eric Anderson is a second year double-degree student at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music pursuing a BA in English and a BM in performance with professor Richard Hawkins. Anderson has served as Principal Clarinet in the Midwest Young Artists' Symphony Orchestra and the Oberlin Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, he has performed at the Ravinia Festival's Bennett Gordon Hall and the Chicago Cultural Center's Preston Bradley Hall. In 2008, Anderson attended the Aspen Music Festival, studying with Joaquin Valdepenas and playing in the Aspen Chamber and Festival Orchestras under renowned conductors such as Alan Gilbert and James Conlon.
Cellist Sasha Anemone graduated from the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Massachusetts in 2006. Anemone spent a year at the Mannes School of Music in New York City studying cello with Marcy Rosen before transferring to Oberlin. Currently a junior, Anemone studies cello with professor Amir Eldan. She has participated in several summer festivals, including the Zephyr Music Festival in Courmayeur, Italy and the Eastern Music Festival.
