Bana Congo Oyez
BANA CONGO OYEZ! explores the Democratic Republic of the Congo's crumbling state through the work of an idealistic Congressman who balances service to his constituents with his own personal ambitions. In this immersive, observational documentary, Jean-Lucien Bussa, represents the rural constituents of his home region while living in the capital city of Kinshasa. Bussa's mission of conflict resolution, campaign for re-election and attempts at legislation illustrate the perils of direct democracy applied to the developing world. In a state corroded by systemic corruption, do we expect democracies to work any other way?
