Black WOMEN Rock! is a 15 year old rock and roll movement spearheaded by poet and activist, jessica Care moore. More than a rock concert, BWR is a movement that supports internationally known black women rock artists and musicians across the country.

A tribute to Betty Davis and other trailblazing women who came before them, the self-proclaimed Daughters of Betty are a cultural force in an industry that often doesn't celebrate their intellectual power, self-empowered lyrics, independence and sexually confident music.

Performers include:
Liza Colby
Celisse Henderson
V Bozeman
Shelley Nicole
Militia Fox
Steffanie Christi'an
jessica Care moore
Ideeyah
Kia Ifani Warren

Discounted general admission tickets ($20 off) for students and seniors are available in the Museum Store. Students must show a valid student ID and seniors must be 62 or older to take advantage of the discounted price.

Doors open at 7 PM and performances will begin at 8 PM.

Wheelchair accessibility is available at our Farnsworth entrance only.

Day 2 of Black WOMEN Rock! is a free afternoon featuring the Detroit premiere of "Nasty Gal", followed by a panel discussion featuring the headliners of BWR.
