JASON COLLETT

Jason Collett is a Toronto based singer-songwriter. He is a member of Broken Social Scene but also tours on his own, having released seven solo CDs. His latest album, Song and Dance Man, was released in February, 2016. He recently joined forces with fellow Canadians in an independently produced film project the Iodine movie where he accomplished his acting debut as Deputy Peel.
Born in Bramalea, Ontario, a Greater Toronto Area suburb, Collett began writing songs at a young age to escape the boredom of his suburban life. He lists Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson and Nick Lowe as influences. Eventually Collett moved to downtown Toronto where he worked as a woodworker and carpenter, doing renovations and custom home building, while he pursued his music. He was a part of the short-lived alt-country group Bird, of which Andrew Cash and Hawksley Workman were also members. Bird released one album, 2000s Chrome Reflection. Collett also took part in Torontos popular indie music gathering, Radio Mondays. Collett, along with others such as The Weakerthans and artists on the record label Arts & Crafts, would perform and write songs together. Collett has mentioned how Radio Mondays were great community-building events, with five or six artists on stage at a time.

THE BASEMENT REVUE

For 12 years, The Basement Revue has been a half-music, half-literary variety show with a rock-n-roll sensibility and a unique Canadian voice, hosted and curated by Broken Social Scene singer/songwriter Jason Collett. From its inception on a wintry night in 2007 at Torontos Dakota Tavern, The Basement Revue has explored what happens when artists of different disciplines share the stage together. This has made for exciting collaborations, such as Feist backing up Michael Ondaatje or Margaret Atwood stepping up to the mic in front of one of Torontos most celebrated bands and saying, with her characteristic deadpan wit, hit it Sadies. Combining a compelling mix of musicians, storytellers, and poets with the improvisational spirit of a kitchen party, The Basement Revue has blossomed into one of Canadas most dynamic live event series.

JEFF WOODS

The most talked about Jeff Woods attribute is his voice. It has been heard on radio and television for decades. Jeffs career continues to be about communication and he is known for sounding as though he's speaking just to you, despite the fact that his reach has extended to a weekly audience exceeding one million listeners.
Beyond talking on the radio and television as a host or a guest, Jeff's presence continues to extend to commercial voice-over and narration, and to the stage as an emcee and speaker.
Woods has been at the center of conversation and context around music for 30+ years. He was the creator and host of The Legends of Classic Rock, heard internationally over 14 seasons. His many one-on-one interviews include David Bowie, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Rush, Ozzy Osbourne, The Band, Pearl Jam, Carlos Santana, Metallica, The Doors, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, and so many more.
Jeff's current radio series "Records & Rockstars" complements his artist interview/performance podcast of the same name, and his first work of non-fiction in print - the acclaimed "Radio, Records & Rockstars, now out in Audio Book and selling at Amazon, Audible & iTunes.
