KINONIK Presents
Featuring live piano accompaniment by Carolyn Swartz, Buster Keatons The General (1926) has become a staple on shortlists of greatest American comedies. Keaton plays a Confederate engineer on a chase for his beloved locomotive, chaos ensues as battle lines are crossed. With a nod to Civil War photographer Matthew Brady, Keatons carefully composed framings go hand in hand with over-the-top, often dangerous stunts, performed by Keaton himself. This is rare chance to see an American classic. The train wreck scene is iconic. Nov. 12, 7 p.m., St. Lawrence Arts. $8.
