ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK starring Johnny Petillo
Rock Around the Clock Part of
Jersey Shore Pops Summer Concert Series
Petersburg, NJ As part of the orchestras annual Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, July 21, Linda Gentille and the Jersey Shore Pops will present Rock Around the Clock featuring the legendary Johnny Petillo.
Singer, comedian and impressionist, Johnny will wow Pops patrons with music made famous by Bobby Rydell, The Platters, Jerry Lee Lewis, Dion & The Belmonts, Liberace, Elvis, and more. Johnny was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003.
Hailing from Asbury Park, NJ, Johnny discovered his skill as a singer at an early age, starting his career with Danny and the Juniors and later joining the Duprees. Johnny quickly established himself as the Performer to see at the Jersey Shore, then around the country.
Johnnys recent performance with the Jersey Shore Pops at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center had an engaged audience singing and laughing, as Johnny blended fan favorite songs with funny stories and touching memories of his long and brilliant career.
Johnny sang a unique blend of 50s and 60s Doo-Wop and Pop favorites, celebrating the music and vocal stylings made famous by luminaries like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davies, Jr., as well as Bobby Rydell, the Lovin Spoonful, the Five Satins, and Dion and the Belmonts.
Said one audience member: The most entertaining performer I have ever seen, that is how I would describe Johnny Petillo.
