The Concert Jazz Band is made up of 12 of the finest musicians in the Capital Region. Established in 2015, the band plays a mixture of original compositions,as well as special arrangements that pay homage to the great big bands that have come before us. Each member of the band is an accomplished soloist and each is featured in different ways throughout the performance. It's not just about soloists however; each arrangement has ensemble passages that focus on the band's ability to play as a unit;another attribute of the big bands that came before us and are performing now. The Concert Jazz Band is part of a tradition that goes back to the last century and continues throughout the world today.
Tonight the band will be celebrating the release of their newest album, North Greenbush Blues.
