A Conversation With Steven Bauer/Acting Masterclass
Join Award- Winning Steven Bauer, known for his performances in Scarface, Breaking Bad, Primal, Fear and Traffic, as he talks about his experiences as a Cuban-American actor, his insights into acting and working with directors, and his advice to actors seeking to improve their craft.   Steven will be in conversation with director Nick Lean  and taking questions from the audience.

Steven Bauer:  Born Esteban Ernesto Echevarria in Havana, Cuba, the son of Lillian, a schoolteacher, and Esteban Echevarria, a pilot who worked for Cubana Airlines until the Cuban Revolution. Steven's maternal grandfather was a Jewish refugee from Germany and his stage surname comes from that side of his family.  Steven grew up in MIami and moved to New York City where he studied under famed acting guru Stella Adler in the 1980s. His film break came with the substantial role of Manolo Ribera in Brian de Palmas Scarface (1983).  His performance drew a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor.  His acting career has included numerous successful and critically acclaimed films.  He stars in Andover, the closing night film at DCIFF on February 19, 3018, Andover directed by Scott Perlmann.

Steven has said: I really do like the independent way of working. You don't get much studio intrusion compared to when you're working on a big Hollywood film where there tends to always be loads of people interfering
