Directors Statement: The filmmakers of Patient 001 were inspired to
reinterpret the Oedipus myth using modern technology and endowing the
characters with psychic abilities which they dont know they possess. The
characters subconscious send dream state visions that are too dark for them to
fully understand or absorb. In this age of information overload, the characters
too become blind by their own anxiety. An act of misguided love and primal fear
leads to forbidden and taboo acts. This cautionary tale takes a look at our
stubborn desire to control circumstances that may indeed be beyond our control.
