Let Golfstrom take you on a musical journey through the music halls of old Paris and Warsaw, the famous Berlin cabarets of the 1920s, concert halls in the USSR, and the musical cafés of Vienna! Their repertoire includes the dramatic sound of Buenos Aires tango clubs, the joyful and wistful melodies of Gypsy and Klezmer bands at Ukrainian village dances and Jewish weddings, and music from French, Italian, and Russian cinema. Accordionist Sergei Nirenburg sets the scene with histories of composers, genres, and cultures, to build an experience that will deepen your understanding and delight your senses.
With a special focus on their French repertoire tonight, the core band of Nirenburg, Jonathan Greene on woodwinds, Bobby Kendall on bass, and Brian Melick on drums will be joined by special guest vocalist Jeanine Ouderkirk Kopp.
