11/09 Fri 8:30 ~ JOHN McEUEN (of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) w/Matt Cartsonis; with special guest Bob Stump & The Blue Mountain Band ~ $20 +$2 processing

Playing a broad spectrum of roots, bluegrass and music now called Americana has made John McEuen an established name in acoustic music. His musical impressions and stories from over 45 years of worldwide travels are brought to his stage with performing expertise that sets him apart from others, focusing on acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin. A founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (in summer of 1966) - multi-instrumentalist McEuen has ventured into varied musical genres, and to different formats including television specials, film scoring, and unusual award winning albums. His recent production of The Crow with Steve Martin won the Best Bluegrass Album Grammy. With an active performing schedule both solo and with his lifetime partners in music - the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band- he will have hit 120 cities this year. Onstage, McEuen incorporates his vintage instruments with wizardry that keeps the audience entranced. John recently was honored with the "Best in the West" award from the Folk Alliance. With the NGDB, McEuen has made over 35 albums, including the landmark platinum-selling Will The Circle Be Unbroken, which was instigated by John.

McEuen is bringing Matt Cartsonis (mandola, guitar, vocals) with him, capturing some of the best of their 10 years performing together. On the menu this night will be many 'old' NGDB songs, the stories behind the Circle album (with the music) and jamming with Matt and the blue Mountain Band.
