. HEATHER MALONEY:
Heather Maloney recently signed on with Signature Sounds (Chris Smither, Lori McKenna, Eilen Jewel and Patty Larkin) to release her 3rd album after quickly building a fan base with her "knock you dead vocals" Valley Advocate and "stop you dead lyrics" Rochester Times. Last year she walked out onto the stage at the Calvin Theater in front of 1,500 fans of the Grammy Award winning artist Jonny Lang, and brought them to their feet in applause. Jonny immediately asked her to open three more shows and called her "an extremely talented songwriter and incredibly great singer." She has been nominated for an Independent Music Award and has been packing some of the most storied venues on the east coast and has played over 300 shows in 24 months in 25 states. She was an emerging artist at Falcon Ridge and has been nominated for Independent music award.
"Darlingside's sweeping sound features phenomenal vocals, crisp instruments, and surprising musical turns." -The Deli Magazine :|: Darlingside has five songwriters, a mandolin, a cello, violin, guitars, drums, a chorus of voices and a van named Chauncey. They forge a seamless, exhilarating sound at the intersection of rock, classical and folk music. Last year the band teamed up with producer Nathaniel Kunkel (Sting, Crosby/Nash, Maroon 5) to record their just released debut full-length album Pilot Machines, which has been getting rave reviews from the press and fans of music alike. The string-rock quintet has played over 250 shows since its inception in September, 2009, including slots at SXSW, the Gathering of the Vibes and the Green River Festival, and are currently shaking rafters along the eastern seaboard with their vibrant live shows.
