Singer/songwriter Brennen Leigh has her hand in two traditional genres: country and bluegrass. The North Dakota native, who was raised in Minnesota and currently lives in Austin, TX, harnesses the power of the acoustic guitar and mandolin as she melds the two styles. Though it'd be easy to mimic the past with simple songs of heartbreak and woe--don't worry, she's got these covered--Leigh stretches farther with literary references of Shakespeare and Yeats in her handcrafted lyrics.
