03/02 Fri 8:30 JAMES MADDOCK; special guest Jared Weintraub $20 +$2 processing

In little over a year, James Maddock has gone from "Whatever happened to James Maddock?" to "How can we live without the music of James Maddock?" With the release of Wake Up and Dream, Maddock firmly establishes himself as one of the truly gifted performing songwriters on the American landscape. As a transplanted Briton rooted on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Maddock effortlessly translates the aspirations and longing of his ever growing legion of followers into song.

First recognized in the U.S as the front-man for the band Wood (Songs From Stamford Hill), Maddock has steadily gained traction in the Northeast with his infectious live performances and accessible touch with his fans. A top 50 chart position at non-comm radio in 2010 for Sunrise On Avenue C leaves Maddock poised to break through to a mainstream audience.

JARED WEINTRAUB
Born in the suburbs of NYC, Jared Weintraub began his solo career at the age of 14 in Manhattan, performing at open mics. A senior at the University of Delaware, Jared has been performing since his first semester at venues all around campus and to audiences upwards of 1000 people. His travels around the world including South Africa, Spain and Israel, as well as every day life encounters have inspired him to write original music which has been compared to John Mayer, Ray Lamontagne, Dispatch, The Beatles, among others due to his laid back and relaxing style. Jared picked up the guitar at age 12 and taught himself how to play in order to support his love of singing. Since then he has written original music, which ranges in lyrical content from his travels abroad and every day experiences. The summer of his senior year of high school recorded his first 6 song acoustic demo, which includes original music such as "Why Won't it Rain?" "How does it feel?" "Barbed Wire". The following winter he recorded his first full band single of "Why Won't it Rain" at his uncle Art "Ski" Halperin's Top of the World Studios in New York. Jared has played countless shows around the University of Delaware including UDance, UDress, SCPAB's "Artist on the Rise" series (opening for Ballyhoo), KOACH's Little Night of Music, and many others in the New York metropolitan area. Jared is currently working on new original music such as "Angel/Devil" while seeking open mics and gigs across the country. He is always looking for new places to play and new musical experiences.
