La bande-son est le soutien indispensable du cinéma. Et quand les grands réalisateurs s'emparent de la musique "classique", on atteint aux chefs-d'uvre, notamment chez Stanley Kubrick avec Barry Lyndon, 2001 l'Odyssée de l'espace Mais chez bien d'autres encore, dans des scènes fameuses qui subliment l'histoire du 7ème art : Le Silence des agneaux, The King's speech, Titanic, Le Barbier de Sibérie sans oublier Le pianiste bien sûr !
