10/14 Fri 8:30 ~ LARDNER & HERMOSILLA ~ $15 +$2 processing
Rob Morsberger is unable to perform due to serious health problems.

Sam Lardner is one of the Towne Crier's "home grown stories." He is a proud former winner of our Open Mic contest (1994) and has been a frequent TC performer with his superb Mediterranean fusion band from Barcelona, Spain, ever since moving there in 1997. Pedro Hermosilla is a Top-40 artist from Barcelona, whose flamenco-based style and colorful lyrics have made him one of Spain's top singer/songwriters. Together, Sam and Pedro bring us their very personal and melodic outlook on music, life and love on the Mediterranean: The Best of Both Worlds.

More about Lardner & Hermosilla (incl. audio)

Rob Morsberger is a singer-songwriter and classically-trained composer. In addition to his own records, his sideman credits include Jules Shear, Loudon Wainwright III, Dan Zanes, The Roches, Crash Test Dummies and Marshall Crenshaw. He is composer for the award-winning PBS series NOVAscienceNOW. Other scoring/arranging credits include Masterpiece Theater, Boardwalk Empire, NOVA and Frontline. In 1995 Morsberger forged an ongoing collaboration with guitarist Jon Herington (Steely Dan, Madeleine Peyroux), bassist Paul Ossola (Saturday Night Live, Levon Helm) and drummer Robin Gould (Michael Franks, Carly Simon), with Morsberger on vocals and keyboards. Their most recent album, The Chronicle of A Literal Man, received stellar reviews in USA Today, The Boston Globe and Herald and more. Writing in the Boston Herald, renowned critic Don Convey stated that the "album is the kind of hyperliterate, pop-inflected singer-songwriter outing that went out of style when Warren Zevon died. And...he can write a hook that could make angels weep."
