"BLACK and WHITE NIGHT" A GRAND PIANO CONCERT
Sebastiani Theatre presents "BLACK & WHITE NIGHT  A GRAND PIANO CONCERT!" featuring stellar piano artists Jason Farnham, The Stephanie Ozer Trio, and Deborah Knapp on Sunday, July 26, 7:00 p.m. This is a rare not-to-be-missed opportunity to enjoy an evening of fabulous piano music by these tremendously gifted pianists who will showcase their talents on the beautiful 100+-year-old Steinway Model O grand piano generously donated by Robyn Makaruk to the Sebastiani Theatre.
Jason Farnham, recently relocated from Los Angeles with his beautiful family, is thrilled to make his local debut performance at the magnificent Sebastiani Theatre.  He has delighted audiences around the U.S., again and again. He began playing the piano at age 4 and is classically trained.  His fans have affectionately dubbed him "Schroeder" from Peanuts because of his toy piano, his witty Victor Borge-style piano comedy antics, and the clever way he interacts with the audience. The variety includes contemporary romantic piano, jazz, bossa nova, blues, stride piano, and classical with a modern twist. Jason is always looking for an interesting spin on the status quo, a way to take a classic and turn it on its ear.

The Stephanie Ozer Trio brings together three bandleaders and innovative artists  Stephanie Ozer, Fabiani Passoni, and Ami Molinelli  to create music that stirs the soul and propels audiences to their feet.  Stephanie Ozer, in addition to classical performance, has performed in ensembles of jazz, rock, Klezmer, Javanese Gamelan, and Brazilian jazz.  She released the CD O Começo: New Beginnings in Brazilian Jazz in 2004, which was recorded in Rio de Janeiro and Berkeley, California. The CD features vocal tracks with the legendary singer Leny Andrade and an outstanding group of musicians. She worked for a decade with vocalist Kathy Moore in an award-winning jazz duo, opening for Abbey Lincoln and Phoebe Snow in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and performing at the San Jose Jazz Festival, Michigan Women's Music Festival, the Vancouver Folk Festival, the National Women's Music Festival, The Jazz School (Berkeley), and the Healdsburg Jazz Festival. Joining Stephanie will be Fabiana Passoni, Brazilian songstress, composer and indefatigable sultry voiced spirit who has released 5 albums to date. Singing samba, choro, bossa nova and contemporary jazz, Fabiana was voted Best Brazilian Female singer living in the US in 2012!  The trio is complete with the magic of Ami Molinelli, a professional percussionist and educator specializing in Brazilian and Latin styles as well as co-leader of the popular Grupo Falso Baiano performing jazz and Brazilian Choro with two highly acclaimed albums.

Deborah Knapp started playing piano at age 5 with classical studies. By late childhood she was playing Ragtime -- encouraged by older parents with a love of Ragtime and songs from that era.  After studying music performance at San Francisco State University and teaching piano for many years, Deborah currently plays with the Jack London Piano Club and most recently dazzled the Sonoma Community Center at an exciting Sonoma Nights event.  Deborah has also been a stellar addition to Silver Moon Theatre's live old time radio performances. A gem and delight for all audiences, Deborah Knapp's personality and presentation are exuberant and infectious and she has recently expanded her style to include the accordion and the Celtic harp.

This evening's performance is a benefit for the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation and also for The Silver Moon Theatre which is dedicated to sharing the joy of live theatre.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. In keeping with the theme of the program patrons are encouraged to dress in "black & white"!  Wine by the glass will be available through the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation for a $5 donation.  The Sebastiani Theatre is located at 476 First Street East in Sonoma. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at brownpapertickets.com, and in Sonoma at Readers' Books and at the Sebastiani Theatre at 707/996-9756. VISA & MasterCard are accepted.
