Sept artistes Torontois vous plongeront dans l'univers cinématographique de Man Ray, Duchamp et Méliès à travers leur musique émouvante et inspirante.
Avec Andrew Downing (violoncelle), Kevin Turcotte (trompette), William Carn (trombone), Peter Lutek (basson/clarinette), Joe Phillips (double basse), Aleksandar Gajic (violon) et David Ochhipinti (guitare).
Andrew Downing est un violoncelliste, compositeur et possède son propre groupe. Son groupe a enregistré un album appelé Silents en avril 2010 avec l'aide de Quinsin Nachoff, Jesse Zubot, Tania Gill et Mark Duggan. Son précédent groupe Great Uncles of the Revolution, a gagné deux West Coast Music Awards, The Grand Prix de Jazz au Montreal Jazz Festival et un Juno Award pour son second album Blow The House Down.
En tant que compositeur, l'univers musical d'Andrew est influencé par de nombreux artistes comme Igor Stravinsky, Duke Ellington, Olivier Messiaen, Bill Frisell and Charlie Haden. Il n'écrit pas seulement pour son propre groupe mais aussi pour The Prince George Symphony, The Art of Time Ensemble, Toca Loca, The Urban Arts Brass Ensemble et Runcible Spoon. Actuellement, Andrew enseigne le violoncelle, la composition et l'improvisation à l'université de Toronto.

Artists: Andrew Downing (cello), Kevin Turcotte (trumpet), William Carn (trombone), Peter Lutek (bass flute/clarinet), Joe Phillips (double bass), Aleksandar Gajic (violin) and David Occhipinti (guitar).
Andrew Downing is a cellist, composer and leader. His group released an album, Silents, in April 2010 with Quinsin Nachoff, Jesse Zubot, Tania Gill and Mark Duggan. His former group Great Uncles of the Revolution, won two West Coast Music Awards, the Grand Prix de Jazz from the Montreal Jazz Festival and a Juno Award for his second recording Blow The House Down.
As a composer, his music is influenced by a wide variety of artists such as Igor Stravinsky, Duke Ellington, Olivier Messiaen, Bill Frisell and Charlie Haden. Andrew currently teaches cello, composition and improvisation at the University of Toronto.
