Droma Fest 08 presents Viva Patshiva & Alessandra Belloni

The Droma Gypsy Festival 2008 will bring over a dozen Gypsy and Gypsy-influenced artists from Europe and the US to NYC for 9 days of colorful Gypsy spirit (Sept 24 Oct 3). In its 4th year running, the festival will once again present the breadth of contemporary Gypsy music from all over the world with a line-up that includes bands which preserve the original musical forms as well as others that mix it up with electronica, jazz, dub and European-style cabaret.

Viva Patshiva is a Gypsy party rock opera from New York's Lower East Side. Alessandra Belloni's I Giullari Di Piazza is a drumming ritual and dance that represents the Gypsy culture of Southern Italy.

Doors open at 6 pm.
