Description
This gritty, heartbreaking drama combines a humanistic portrait of society's unwanted babies, unloved orphans and unlawful urchins with the story of a power struggle between a reformer and a corrupt politician. William Desmond Taylor is remembered as the victim of a famous unsolved murder, but here's proof that we should commemorate him as a director of singular artistry. Judge Ben Lindsey, the real-life founder of America's juvenile court system, appears as himself.
