Outdoor photography lessons
This is your opportunity to learn outdoor photography from a team of skilled volunteer photographers. Plus, this is a special chance for you to visit private land under conservation easement with INLT.
Weather permitting, photography sessions will be held on the following dates: -- Saturday, May 8 Bryant/Sayre easement on Latah Creek near Spangle. Meet on-site at 8:00 AM. -- Saturday, May 22 Chambers easement on the Pack River near Sandpoint. Meet on-site at 8:00 AM. -- Saturday, June 5 Takai easement at Newman Lake. Meet on-site at 8:00 AM.
Instructors include: Gerry Brooks, Alice Garland, Bob Griffith, Rich Leon, Tom Munson, and Steve Shining.
Each person will need a digital or film camera and the instruction manual. Please be familiar with your camera.
Photography sessions are $25 per person per session and may include macro photography, landscapes, birds, flowers, etc. You may sign up for one or more of the sessions. Space is limited.
The landowner may be available to talk about the land and what makes it special.
We will provide you with a list of things to bring and a map and driving directions a couple of weeks prior to the class.
Photography Critique Session - May 5 at 7:00 PM
Bring prints of 3 or 4 of your best photographs for critique by experienced judges. Get tips on how to improve your outdoor photography when you attend INLT's photo field trips in May and June. Learn how to choose which pictures to enter in a photography contest. Cost $15.
Contest Summary
Participants may submit their photos for judging by a panel of experts from local camera clubs. All photos must have been taken during the classes. Photos will be displayed in the lobby of the Community Building in advance of the award ceremony which will be held in conjunction with the October 1 Spokane Visual Arts Tour. INLT may select photographs from student submissions to include in greeting cards, and other materials.
